The challenge
The firm handles a high volume of NDA, employment, and service contracts — each requiring personalised clauses, jurisdiction-specific boilerplate, and formatted PDFs for e-signature. Paralegals were copy-pasting from Word templates, introducing errors and inconsistencies that created liability exposure.
Our approach
We built a document generation engine in Python that reads structured intake data (from their existing CRM via API), selects and populates the correct template variant, applies conditional clause logic, and outputs a court-ready PDF + a Word version for partner review. The engine is exposed as an internal web tool and also as a webhook for their CRM automation.
Results
- Average contract drafting time reduced from 45 minutes to under 90 seconds
- Error rate on standard contracts dropped to effectively zero
- 10,000+ documents processed per month with no additional headcount
- Paralegals redeployed to higher-value review and client-facing work
