The challenge
The client's team of 30 analysts was managing €400M in assets using a patchwork of spreadsheets and emails. Data conflicts, version mismatches, and manual reconciliation were costing roughly 12 hours per analyst per week. Any solution needed to handle live price feeds, role-based permissions, and an audit trail for regulatory compliance.
Our approach
We architected a React + Node.js SaaS platform backed by PostgreSQL and deployed on AWS. The frontend uses WebSockets for sub-second price updates. We implemented row-level security in the database for multi-tenant isolation, a full audit log per GDPR requirements, and a CI/CD pipeline for zero-downtime releases.
Results
- 12 hours/week saved per analyst — 360 hours/week firm-wide
- Real-time data latency reduced from 15-minute email refreshes to under 800ms
- Full regulatory audit trail implemented within the initial scope
- Onboarded all 30 analysts in under 2 days with zero data migration issues
