From Pitch Deck to Funded MVP: Architecting a PropTech Platform

The challenge
The founding team had domain expertise in commercial real estate but no in-house engineers. They needed a working MVP demonstrating property valuation automation and tenant-landlord workflow management — in 12 weeks — to present to investors. The architecture also had to be scalable enough that it wouldn't need to be rewritten post-funding.
Our approach
We started with a 2-week discovery and architecture sprint, producing a full technical specification and infrastructure diagram. We then built the MVP iteratively: a React frontend, a Node.js API, integration with a third-party valuation data provider, and a workflow engine for lease document management. We also produced the technical due diligence documentation the investors required.
Results
- MVP delivered on day 84 — 2 days before investor presentation
- Series A round closed successfully with technical architecture praised in due diligence
- Codebase handed over with full documentation and a 6-month technical roadmap
- Architecture has scaled to 3x the initial user base without refactoring
